Great day for a ride

The high today in Henderson is 85, making it the coolest day here since I've been home. With no humidity, it's the perfect time for a ride. I might ride to JT's bike shop. It is seven miles away along horizon ridge. From there, I can turn north and continue on a bike lane. I should try to get at least 25 miles in today with all the gear on the bike.

I've started putting pins and buttons on my saddlebag. I figure that it will be a good way of keeping momentos from places we visit along the coast.

Update...

Just finished a 22 mile ride out to eastern Henderson. Avg speed: 14.4. Top speed: 37. The kid working the bike shop was really helpful with the spoke business. Everywhere else has refused to sell me spokes without rebuilding a wheel. Now I have two spares of slightly different size, and one is bound to fit. So as long as I don't bust multiple spokes at once, I will be ok.

I made it to the library on the way back to pick up On Beauty by Zadie Smith. My WashU buds and I are reading it for an online book club.

Time to jump in the pool! Then feast time.
